Stavros Review

Review of Stavros

The small beach-village of Stavros is located in Akrotiri approximately 15 km from Chania to the northeast. Stavros is a marvellous sandy beach with light blue clear waters. The beach is enclosed by the circular bay where the visitors can enjoy the sea and sun. The core of Stavros is built next to the big sandy beach and features the right place to enjoy dinner or coffee in one of the numerous restaurants, taverns, cafes and snack bars of the waterfront. The beach-village of Stavros is the place where “Zorba the Greek” was filmed with the final part of the movie filmed on the beach pictured below. While staying in the Stavros village visitors should consider visiting some of the great Monasteries and churches of the Akrotiri Peninsula.
